In a surprising turn of events, Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has been making headlines since March, following the deportation of alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador.

However, his efforts seem to be falling short of his intended impact.

According to RedState, Van Hollen has taken drastic measures to the point of embarrassing himself and his country. He traveled to El Salvador to demand the release of the illegal immigrant, where he was photographed enjoying margaritas during a meeting with Abrego Garcia, an accused domestic abuser and suspected human trafficker.

Van Hollen's trip proved fruitless, a situation made worse by the fact that Patty Morin, a Maryland resident and mother of the late Rachel Morin, a mother of five who was brutally murdered by another illegal immigrant from El Salvador, revealed that Van Hollen never reached out to the Morin family following their tragic loss in the summer of 2023.

The Senator's actions were met with a stern response from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As detailed by RedState's Nick Arama, Rubio made it clear that he did not regret cutting $10 million for male circumcisions in Mozambique, stating, "I don't know how that makes us stronger or more prosperous as a nation." He also highlighted the "$227,000 for Big Cats YouTube Channel" and "$14 million for social cohesion in Mali, whatever the hell that means."

Rubio further confirmed that they deported people to El Salvador, including gang members, "including the one you had a margarita with." He emphasized that the judiciary cannot dictate the foreign policy of the United States, stating, "That isn't how our system works."

Despite being silenced by Rubio during the hearing, Van Hollen attempted to retaliate on Twitter/X using video from the Tuesday hearing. However, his efforts backfired as people countered his arguments:

"Betraying American values and interests? Quite the projection given your defense of an illegal alien gang banger, wife beater and human trafficker."

"Meanwhile, we saw firsthand your betrayal of America trying to bring an MS13 gang member back into this country illegally. Disgusting."

"Senator, your behavior today was absolutely disgraceful. Despite being reprimanded numerous times by the Chairman, you continued to rudely interrupt the Sec. of State when he had the floor. Well, you got your sound bites & I certainly wont forget them. Grandstander."

"You lied about the obvious dementia of Joe Biden to every American and betrayed your oath of office. You have no standing Senator. You are excused."

"If the Senate swamp hates Marco Rubio for putting America Firsthe must be doing something right."

These responses underscore the public's dissatisfaction with Van Hollen's actions, highlighting the importance of upholding American values and interests. It also raises questions about the role of the judiciary in foreign policy and the need for transparency and accountability in public office. The conservative perspective emphasizes the importance of limited government, individual freedom, and free-market economics, and these principles are clearly reflected in the public's response to Van Hollen's actions.
