In a significant development, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Tuesday the seizure of approximately three million fentanyl pills, weighing a total of 11.5 kilograms.

This operation marks "the largest seizure in our nations history," according to Bondi. The synthetic opioid, notorious for its potencyup to 50 times stronger than heroinis primarily produced in China and trafficked into the United States by drug cartels. Often disguised as counterfeit pills, fentanyl has been a major contributor to overdose deaths among unsuspecting users.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, the crisis has escalated under the Biden administration, with fentanyl becoming the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45. This alarming trend follows Bondi's earlier announcement that over 22 million fentanyl-laced pills were confiscated during President Trump's initial 100 days in office. Bondi highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating, "This is enough deadly fentanyl to kill 119 million people."

During a press conference, Bondi revealed the arrest of six members of the Sinaloa Cartel, led by Alberto Salazar Amaya, who resided in Salem, Oregon. "With him, they got millions of dollars, cash, cars, but the drugs were in Albuquerque, Phoenix and Utah," Bondi explained. Notably, all cartel members apprehended were residing in the United States illegally.

The operation, spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in collaboration with local, state, tribal, and federal partners, targeted what Bondi described as "one of the largest and most dangerous drug trafficking and foreign terrorist organizations in our country." The DEA's efforts culminated in the historic seizure of 11.5 kilograms of fentanyl, including the staggering three million pills.

Bondi emphasized the sophisticated nature of the cartel's operations, noting the insulation of drug leaders like Salazar Amaya. "The main bottom right, the head of this organization, Sinaloa organization, here in the country illegallysix of these guys and women here in the country illegally," she stated. The cartel's reach extended across multiple states, with drugs discovered in Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Utah, underscoring the pervasive threat posed by these criminal networks.

This monumental seizure and the subsequent arrests highlight the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the critical need for robust border security and immigration enforcement to protect American lives from the scourge of illicit drugs.
