The Trump administration is poised to take decisive action against leaders of sanctuary cities who provide refuge to illegal immigrants.
This week, Tom Homan, the President's border czar, hinted at forthcoming measures, playfully urging reporters to stay tuned for developments.
As reported by Breitbart, a reporter questioned Homan on why the administration does not simply arrest sanctuary city leaders who shield illegal aliens from deportation. In response, Homan cryptically remarked, "Wait til you see whats coming," accompanied by a knowing smile. This statement aligns with Homan's recent press conference warning, where he emphasized that officials or judges who harbor illegal immigrants "will be prosecuted."
Homan has consistently maintained that while individuals are free to support sanctuary city policies, it is perplexing why these leaders prioritize illegal aliens over their fundamental duty to safeguard their communities. "Any public official your mayor, city councilman, or governor their number one responsibility is protection of the communities," he asserted, highlighting that ICE's focus is on "targeting public safety threats and national security threats."
Expressing disbelief, Homan remarked, "I cant believe theres any elected official and especially a judge that doesnt believe we should be doing that, and they should be helping us." He reiterated his stance that while dissent and protest are permissible, crossing the line into obstruction or knowingly harboring illegal immigrants will result in prosecution, regardless of one's position. "But I said in day one. You can sit aside and watch again. You can argue against us protest all you want, but when you cross that line Ive said this one thousand times when you cross that line to impediment or knowingly harboring or concealing an illegal alien migrant, you will be prosecuted judge or not," Homan warned.
Homan's commitment to enforcing immigration laws is evident in his actions, as he has previously vowed to bring "hell" to sanctuary cities. This promise has materialized, with Homan overseeing 380 ICE arrests in the Boston area alone in March. The administration's firm stance underscores its dedication to upholding the rule of law and prioritizing the safety and security of American communities.
