The Wisconsin Supreme Court has taken decisive action in the case of Judge Hannah Dugan from the Milwaukee Circuit Court.
Following her arrest by the FBI, Dugan has been "temporarily relieved of her official duties." The arrest stemmed from allegations that she assisted an illegal alien in evading law enforcement, a serious charge that has raised questions about the integrity of the judicial system.
As reported by One America News, Dugan faces a criminal complaint accusing her of obstructing an official procedure by shielding the illegal alien from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities. The charges against her include obstruction of an official procedure and concealing an individual to prevent discovery and arrest.
The Department of Justice has clarified that "Section 1071 makes it an offense to harbor or conceal any person for whose arrest a warrant or process has been issued, so as to prevent the fugitives discovery and arrest, after having notice or knowledge that a warrant or process has been issued for the fugitives apprehension."
The Wisconsin Supreme Court's decision, issued on Tuesday, states that Dugan is "temporarily prohibited from exercising the powers of a circuit court judge in the State of Wisconsin." This injunction will remain in effect "until further order of the court." In the interim, other judges will manage her caseload, as confirmed by the Wisconsin Court System to Fox News.
Despite her current suspension, Dugan is slated to appear in court on May 15th to address federal charges of felony obstruction of a federal agency and a misdemeanor for concealing an individual to aid in evasion of arrest. This case underscores the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring that those in positions of authority are held accountable for their actions.
