President Donald Trump is set to make an appearance in Michigan next week, marking the first 100 days of his second term in office.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the news on X, stating, "President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!"
As reported by Fox News, Trump, who took the oath of office on January 20, joins President Grover Cleveland as the only U.S. presidents to secure two non-consecutive terms. Trump's history with Michigan is notable; he captured the state in both 2016 and 2024, though he fell short in 2020. His victory in 2016 ended a Republican drought in Michigan that had persisted since 1988.
The rally in Macomb County is drawing attention from prominent Republicans. House GOP Conference Chair Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., expressed her enthusiasm on X, stating, "There is no better place to celebrate Day 100 than Macomb County," and extended a warm welcome to Trump. Similarly, Rep. John James, R-Mich., tweeted, "Macomb County is honored to welcome President @realDonaldTrump back to MICHIGAN to celebrate the first 100 days of Americas New Golden Age. Together, we will Make Michigan Great Again." James, who recently announced his candidacy for governor, underscores the significance of Trump's visit to the state.
Trump's rally in Michigan not only commemorates his early achievements in his second term but also highlights the enduring support he enjoys in a state that has proven pivotal in his electoral successes. The event is poised to reinforce conservative values and energize the Republican base as they look forward to future victories.
