Stephen Miller, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Advisor, has long been recognized by conservatives as the ideal candidate for the task of deporting criminal aliens from the United States.
His detractors are numerous and include the bureaucracy, the media, the Democrats, and the deep state. It is not far-fetched to imagine that those on the extreme left would express their disdain for him even posthumously, a prospect that he likely finds satisfying. Could Miller be considered Trump's most valuable asset? There is a strong case to be made for his effectiveness.
For conservatives who have long advocated for a secure southern border and widespread deportations, Miller's work is a dream realized. It is refreshing to see him finally receiving the recognition he deserves. Regardless of personal feelings towards him, one cannot deny his ability to execute the president's agenda.
While I have never personally interacted with Miller during my tenure at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), my long-standing involvement in the conservative realm allows me to confidently state that he has been diligently working towards his current achievements. How can I be so sure? The evidence lies in the results we are witnessing. While Trump is undoubtedly the leader of the effort and deserves all the credit, the manner in which we are addressing immigration would not be possible without Miller's involvement. He possesses an unwavering resolve, is capable of both delivering and receiving criticism, and can effortlessly put the media in its place.
Miller is on a mission. He is not concerned with appeasing emotions. His knowledge on the subject of immigration surpasses that of the entire media. This was demonstrated when Fox News' Bill Hemmer discovered the hard way that the press had propagated a false narrative. According to RedState, the narrative was led by a rogue DOJ attorney and suggested that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a criminal alien with ties to El Salvador gangs, had been unjustly deported and should be returned. The Supreme Court has already indicated that the U.S. government cannot be forced to retrieve him. What self-respecting nation would willingly bring back a criminal alien? Garcia had already been ordered to leave America and, like millions of others, failed to comply. In an interview with Hemmer on Fox News, Miller dismantled the entire narrative surrounding Garcia:
Hemmer: Number 1, DOJ said, A federal court cannot compel the Executive Branch to engage in any mandated act of diplomacy or incursion upon the sovereignty of another nation. So your argument is that you dont have to bring him back home. But will you?
Miller: So, I want to correct, I hate to do it, Bill, but Ive got to correct you on every single thing that you said 'cause it was all wrong. First, we won the Supreme Court case clearly, 9-0. A district court judge said, unconscionably, that the president and his administration have to go into El Salvador and extradite one of their citizens, an El Salvadorian citizen - so that would be kidnapping - that we have to kidnap an El Salvadorian citizen against the will of his government and fly him back to America, which would be an unimaginable act and an invasion of El Salvador's sovereignty. So we appealed to the Supreme Court, and it said - clearly, no district court can compel the president to exercise his Article II foreign powers In 2019, he was ordered deported. He has a final removal order from the United States. These are things that no one disputes. Where is he from? El Salvador. Where is he a resident and citizen of? El Salvador. Is he here illegally? Yes. Does he have a deportation order? Yes. A DOJ lawyer who has since been relieved of duty, a saboteur, a Democrat, put into a filing incorrectly that this was a mistaken removal. It was not. This was the right person sent to the right place.
The length of the quote underscores Miller's deep understanding of the subject. In the video, Hemmer is visibly frustrated after being corrected so thoroughly and systematically. It's not just Fox News that got it wrong, virtually every major outlet should be issuing retractions on this topic.
Miller also corrected the Associated Press:
An illegal alien gang member and citizen of El Salvador is not a Maryland Man. And when a foreign alien terrorist is removed to his home soil he is justly and righteously deported.
