Ohio's newly appointed Republican Senator, Jon Husted, has recently received the "complete and total" endorsement of President Donald Trump for his re-election bid next year.

Husted, who replaced now-Vice President JD Vance in the U.S. Senate, shared his enthusiasm about the endorsement with Fox News Digital.

According to Fox News, Husted expressed his gratitude for the endorsement, stating, "When Governor DeWine appointed me to the U.S. Senate, I promised that if I took the job, that I would run to keep the job and then this week, President Trump really gave me a big boost when he announced on True Social that he was endorsing me, that I had his complete and total endorsement." Husted further emphasized the significance of Trump's endorsement, given the President's influence in the last two U.S. Senate races in Ohio.

To secure his position in the Senate, Husted must win a special election next year, which will allow him to serve out the remainder of Vances term through 2028. Trump's endorsement has proven pivotal in previous Ohio Senate races, notably contributing to the victories of JD Vance in 2022 and GOP Sen. Bernie Moreno over longtime Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown in November.

Husted, who has won statewide four times, believes that his track record combined with Trump's endorsement will significantly bolster his election prospects. Since his appointment, Husted has been actively involved in Washington, working at a "record pace" to get the President's confirmations done and push through the reconciliation package.

Husted shared with Fox News Digital his commitment to implementing President Trump's agenda, which includes preserving tax cuts for working families and small businesses, securing the border, and deporting illegal immigrant criminals. He stated, "All of those things are important priorities of the presidents, and we've leaned in hard. We've spent sometimes into the weekends working to get that agenda accomplished, so President Trump and the Republican team could be successful."

While it remains uncertain who Husted will face in next years election, he remains unfazed, focusing instead on his work and delivering on the America first agenda. This agenda includes securing the border, upholding common sense values, and ensuring the integrity of women's sports. Husted also emphasized the importance of a robust economy, stating, "It's also focused on the economy, doing Made in America, because you can't do Made in America without Made in Ohio, because we are the heart of it all."

Trump's endorsement of Husted was made public on Truth Social, where he praised Husted as a "wonderful man" doing an "incredible job" and assured his followers that Husted "will not let you down."

Looking ahead, Husted outlined his goals for the next 100 days, which include pushing through the Presidents tax package, balancing the budget, restoring fiscal sanity, and adding predictability to the tax code.

He also plans to bring his experience in regulatory reform in Ohio to the Senate, aiming to cut down the federal regulatory code to make it more accessible and understandable for average Americans. This, Husted believes, will unleash the American spirit of entrepreneurship and save people time and money.
