In a recent episode of "Jesse Watters Primetime" on Fox News, former Democratic campaign operative Evan Barker made a bold prediction about the political future of ex-Vice President Kamala Harris.
Barker's forecast, which was met with a triumphant fist pump from host Jesse Watters, suggested that Harris is destined to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028, irrespective of her political decisions in the interim.
According to the Daily Caller, Barker's prediction came amidst a broader conversation about Harris's political aspirations and the current leadership within the Democratic Party. Barker shared his belief that a faction of Democrats continues to back Harris, attributing this to the party's tendency to support the next in line rather than allowing Democratic voters to choose their candidates. He cited the treatment of Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020 as evidence of this pattern.
Barker told Watters, "I think what will happen, and Im making this prediction now, is that regardless if Kamala decides to run for governor or if she decides to run for president, she is going to run, and she will end up becoming the Democratic nominee for the president.
Barker further suggested that the Democratic machinery, including donors, super PACs, and consultants, is already aligning behind Harris. He argued that even in the presence of another strong candidate, the party's financial and strategic resources would still rally behind Harris due to a perceived mandate for her to run.
Barker also responded to a post by Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who argued that the 2024 election underscored the importance of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). Crockett claimed that Harris was unfairly dismissed because of her race and gender, while an unqualified opponent who misrepresented his plans was given a pass. Barker countered this argument, stating, I have to say it is so hilarious to me that Jasmine Crockett is saying that the 2024 election is the reason that we need to support DEI when it was literally the reason that the Democratic Party lost the 2024 election.
Barker suggested that the Democratic Party's alignment with DEI principles might have contributed to its recent electoral setbacks. He shared that insiders had expressed concern to him about the party's decision to support Harris due to DEI, viewing it as a strategic misstep.
The discussion also touched on the withdrawal of former President Joe Biden from the 2024 presidential race following a poor debate performance. Amid internal pressure from his party, Biden stepped aside for the good of the country, endorsing Harris as his successor. Barker's prediction, if accurate, could see Harris stepping into the presidential race, supported by a party machinery that believes it's her turn to lead.
