During a recent episode of ABC's "The View," co-host Joy Behar expressed her belief that President Donald Trump is deliberately undermining the U.S. economy to incite chaos, with the ultimate aim of declaring martial law and assuming dictatorial powers.
Behar's comments sparked a lively discussion among her fellow panelists, as she shared her theories on the President's motivations.
According to Breitbart, Behar speculated on President Trump's intentions, questioning, "What is his exact plan is what I want to know." She suggested that by destabilizing the stock market, the President's wealthy allies could capitalize on the situation by purchasing assets at reduced prices. Behar referenced Hakeem Jeffries, who had previously floated this idea, and noted that Trump himself had posted on Truth Social, calling it "a great time to buy."
Furthermore, she cited political strategist James Carville's theory that the President seeks to create instability to consolidate power, leading to public unrest. Behar pondered, "But how mad will people get, and how broke will people get, and how many jobs will be lost and then he can say, well, theres too much chaos and now were going to have martial law and becomes a dictator."
While co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected, asserting, "No, were not," in response to Behar's claim that people are beginning to "go nuts," she did acknowledge that public anger could be beneficial. Behar, however, remained steadfast in her concerns, stating, "But its possible. Just as somebody watching the news that is what I see." The conversation highlighted the ongoing debate about the President's influence on the economy and the potential consequences of his actions.
