In a recent development, Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna from Florida has revealed that the task force investigating the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy is seeking an unseen video allegedly in the possession of NBC.
This revelation was made during Luna's appearance on Fox News on Friday evening.
According to the Daily Caller, the Trump administration had previously declassified and released over 60,000 pages of documents related to Kennedy's assassination, fulfilling a promise made by thes President. Luna, during her appearance on "Jesse Watters Primetime," discussed the Oversight Committee's plans to hold its first hearing since the declassification on April 1. Notable figures such as filmmaker Oliver Stone and journalist Jefferson Morley are expected to testify at the hearing.
Luna stated, So were actually in the process of tracking down two specific documents and, also to Jesse, I would like to actually tell the American people it was made aware to me this evening that NBC actually has a video thats never been seen before. She further added that the video allegedly shows Oswald near the vehicle at the time of the assassination, suggesting that he could not have been the shooter.
In addition to this, Luna highlighted a CIA document that, according to Morley, indicated that the CIA never believed in the lone gunman theory. She said, So I think the American people had an inclination as to what we were saying, but we never had the hard evidence until now.
Before the document release, Trump had signed an executive order in January instructing Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to devise a plan for the release. The unsealed documents have since shed light on the CIA's surveillance of Kennedy's alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, prior to the assassination.
Luna questioned the operation of a "free and fair society" if its agency was "operating in the shadows." She commended Trump, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Gabbard for their efforts towards transparency. When Watters questioned Luna about NBC's alleged withholding of the unseen video, Luna revealed that Stone had informed the lawmakers about the footage.
Luna said, Correct. In fact, director [Oliver] Stone actually told us that he was shown this tape, that it was a secondary copy and that he said that this could blow open the entire JFK investigation. She further added that Stone had mentioned NBC's protective stance towards the tape.
Luna expressed her belief that the tape belongs to the American people and that a letter requesting the tape would be sent to NBC. She urged everyone to ask NBC to release the tape to the public, stating, Its important, not just for our investigations, but so the American people know the truth as to what happened with John F. Kennedy.
Stone, known for his detailed account of Kennedy's assassination in his 1991 film "JFK," praised Trump for his efforts to unseal the documents after their release. NBC has yet to respond to the Daily Caller News Foundations request for comment. This development underscores the ongoing quest for transparency and truth in one of America's most enduring mysteries.
