In a bold move, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has declared that Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kirchner, the former President of Argentina, and Julio Miguel De Vido, the former Minister of Planning of Argentina, are barred from entering the United States.
This decision is a result of their alleged involvement in "significant corruption" during their tenure in public office.
According to an official statement from Rubio, "Today, I am announcing the designation of Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kirchner ('CFK'), former President of Argentina, and Julio Miguel De Vido ('De Vido'), former Minister of Planning of Argentina, for their involvement in significant corruption during their time in public office. This action renders CFK, De Vido, and their immediate family members generally ineligible for entry into the United States.
Rubio further elaborated on the nature of their corruption, stating, CFK and De Vido abused their positions by orchestrating and financially benefitting from multiple bribery schemes involving public works contracts, resulting in millions of dollars stolen from the Argentine government. Multiple courts have convicted CFK and De Vido for corruption, undermining the Argentine peoples and investors confidence in Argentinas future."
This decision is in line with the Trump administration's swift actions since taking office in January to ban foreign government officials whose values are in stark contrast to those of the White House. Earlier this month, the State Department announced a visa-restriction policy targeting foreign government officials and others believed to be responsible for facilitating illegal immigration into the country.
Rubio explained the policy, saying it will target immigration, customs, airport, and port authority officials, and others who "knowingly facilitate the transit of aliens intending to illegally immigrate into the United States via the U.S. Southwest border."
In a similar vein, Rubio announced last week via social media that South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool was no longer welcome in the U.S. He stated, South Africa's Ambassador to the United States is no longer welcome in our great country. Ebrahim Rasool is a race-bating politician who hates America and hates @POTUS. We have nothing to discuss with him and so he is considered PERSONA NON GRATA.
As reported by Newsmax, these actions by the Trump administration and Secretary of State Rubio reflect a commitment to uphold American values and protect the nation from those who seek to undermine them. The administration's swift and decisive actions send a clear message to the world: corruption, illegal immigration, and anti-American sentiment will not be tolerated.
The barring of the former Argentine officials and the South African Ambassador is a testament to the administration's dedication to preserving the integrity of the United States. The actions taken by Rubio and the Trump administration underscore their commitment to the principles of limited government, individual freedom, and free-market economics, which are at the heart of conservative values.
While these decisions may be met with criticism from some quarters, they are a clear demonstration of the administration's resolve to protect American interests and uphold the nation's values. The message is clear: those who engage in corruption, facilitate illegal immigration, or express anti-American sentiment are not welcome in the United States.
