Sunny Hostin, a co-host on ABC's "The View," expressed her concerns on Friday regarding the potential implications of a second term for President Donald Trump, describing it as an "existential crisis.
".
Hostin urged Democrats to abandon traditional political norms, suggesting a more aggressive approach in response to Republican strategies.
As reported by Breitbart, Hostin criticized politicians who avoid town halls, labeling such actions as "very un-American" and "cowardly." She argued that politicians should prioritize the needs of their constituents over party loyalty, stating, "If you are just, you know, stepping in line the way Republicans generally do behind a candidate that is harming the economy, I mean, you need to listen to the people that put you in office. Instead of being so concerned about maintaining power, why not be more concerned with helping people?"
Hostin also commented on economic matters, particularly the decline in Tesla's stock, attributing it to the self-interest of "oligarchs and these billionaires." She lamented the impact on Americans, saying, "Its unfortunate that there will be Americans that will be harmed because of this Tesla stock going down but its also very unfortunate that many Americans will be harmed because of Elon Musks policies and because of what he is doing."
In her critique of political strategy, Hostin emphasized the need for Democrats to adapt to the current political climate, asserting, "The Republicans have thrown out the rulebook. Democrats need to stop playing by those rules. Those rules dont exist anymore. Were at an existential crisis right now. We need to meet energy with energy." She criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for what she perceived as a concession to Republican tactics, urging Democrats to "fight them the way they fight."
