Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat, has recently been in the spotlight for his unorthodox approach to politics, which has seen him adopt a maverick stance reminiscent of the late John McCain.

When asked to respond to her criticisms earlier this week, he retorted, "I hope you can relay how little I care about her views on this. Im going to stand on what I believe is the right thing to do but ask her, Whats the exit plan once we shut the government down? What about all the millions of Americans who are going to have their lives damaged? What about the ones that wont have any paycheck? Shell have her paycheck, though."
In the wake of this disagreement, Ocasio-Cortez appears to be mending fences with Fetterman's main rival in the 2022 Democrat Primary, Connor Lamb. Fetterman had positioned himself as the 'progressive' candidate in the race, while Lamb was seen as more moderate. Despite not endorsing a candidate in the primary, Ocasio-Cortez did back Fetterman in the general election, a decision she now seems to be reconsidering.
Fetterman has also been critical of his own party's approach to the continuing resolution, accusing Senate Democrats of engaging in political "theater." He has been vocal about his disapproval of his party's muted response to President Trump's address to Congress, stating, "I don't think that was the best look for our party last night."
The Pennsylvania senator's break from party lines has led to speculation about his potential as a presidential candidate in 2028. His unconventional approach to politics, which includes a willingness to work with Republicans and a refusal to engage in political theatrics, has been seen by some as a refreshing change.
