The digital currency DOGE has been making waves in the United States, despite the Democrats' objections.
The opposition's resistance to the elimination of waste, fraud, and abuse, as highlighted by DOGE, is seen by many as futile and misguided.
According to RedState, DOGE has brought to light the existence of active social security numbers belonging to millions of individuals over a century old. This revelation has sparked widespread disbelief and concern among the public.
In his recent Joint Address to Congress, President Donald Trump drew attention to this issue, humorously remarking that 130,000 of these individuals were over 160 years old. He quipped, "We have a healthier country than I thought, Bobby!" to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., his Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Despite the gravity of the issue, some Democrats in the audience appeared to dismiss it. However, the majority of Americans recognize the problem and are calling for remedial action.
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) has been advocating for a bill that would address this issue and prevent any potential payouts to deceased individuals. In a conversation with Fox's Larry Ludlow, Kennedy stated, "The government sends money to dead people. Its not complicated: Congress should pass my bill to put an end to this fraud."
Ludlow echoed Kennedy's sentiments, clarifying that the proposed bill is not aimed at ending Social Security but rather at eliminating fraud within the system.
With DOGE and the President now shining a spotlight on the issue, Kennedy is hopeful that his bill will finally gain traction. It seems inconceivable that anyone could oppose a measure designed to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste, yet the Democrats appear to be standing in opposition.
Kennedy, known for his sharp wit, also had a memorable comment regarding Elon Musk and the left's resistance to DOGE. He praised Musk as a "rockstar" for his role in promoting DOGE and expressed his full support for the cuts.
"I think Elon Musk is a rockstar. The tofu crowd is mad, but you know, when you trim fat, pigs squeal," Kennedy declared. "That's just the way the world works. That's the law of nature."
Kennedy's remarks encapsulate the current political climate, with Democrats seemingly scrambling to oppose DOGE cuts.
The question remains: why would anyone want to maintain active numbers for individuals who are clearly no longer alive? Is it a misguided attempt to preserve waste and fraud? Far from harming Social Security, these cuts could actually save it. Eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse benefits everyone by making government more efficient. Republicans must continue to challenge anyone who opposes such necessary reforms.
