Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker recently made headlines with another visit to the Oval Office, despite his team not clinching victory in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This visit, however, was not part of the traditional celebratory trip for Super Bowl champions. Instead, Butker's presence in Washington, D.C., was a more personal affair, largely flying under the radar of public attention.
As reported by The Blaze, Butker, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, met with Trump in the Oval Office. The meeting was highlighted by White House communications adviser Margo Martin, who shared a photo of the two on social media, captioning it, "The GOAT of kicking [Harrison Butker] meets the GOAT of Presidents [Donald Trump]."
Butker also took the opportunity to visit the White House press briefing room, where he posed for a photo at the podium. A Spectrum News reporter noted, "Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is here at the White House today and just stopped in the press briefing room to take a photo."
This visit marks Butker's third consecutive year at the White House, although this time he was not accompanied by his Chiefs teammates. The Chiefs, who had previously celebrated back-to-back Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024, fell short of making history with a third consecutive win. Traditionally, Super Bowl champions are invited to the White House for a team photo opportunity with the president.
Butker's political inclinations have been clear, particularly with his support for Trump during the 2024 election, where he praised Trump as the "most pro-life president." Butker emphasized the importance of prioritizing the fight for the unborn, stating, "That's a topic that is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that's what we should prioritize."
Butker has emerged as a prominent figure in conservative media, known for his anti-woke and pro-life stance. His commencement speech in May 2024 drew significant attention from progressive outlets. Furthermore, Butker commended Trump for his selection of an ambassador to the Vatican in December.
In addition to his advocacy, Butker has taken concrete steps to influence political discourse. He established the UPRIGHT PAC, a political action committee aimed at encouraging Christians to vote in favor of "traditional values."
The Daily Mail reported that the PAC was launched in October 2024 and endorsed Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri. The Kansas City Star quoted the PAC's statement, which praised Hawley as "not just a Senator; he's a devout Christian, a family man, and a fighter for so much we hold dear." The statement further highlighted Hawley's dedication to defending religious rights, upholding the Constitution, and advocating for the unborn.
During his time in Washington, D.C., Butker reportedly met with Senator Hawley, as noted by KCTV 5.
