In a bold move to curb illegal immigration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, on behalf of President Donald Trump, issued a stern warning to those contemplating unauthorized entry into the U.S. "Dont even think about it," she cautioned.
Secretary Noem, as reported by Fox News, unveiled a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign on Monday, aimed at deterring illegal immigrants. "Tonight, Im announcing a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to leave our country NOW or face deportation with the inability to return to the US," Noem stated.
She further emphasized that this initiative serves as a potent deterrent to illegal immigrants, warning them against setting foot on American soil. "If they do, they will be hunted down and deported," she added.
In a video message, Noem reiterated her warning to potential illegal immigrants. "Let me deliver a message from President Trump to the world. If you are considering entering America illegally, don't even think about it," she declared. Noem underscored the administration's commitment to law enforcement and border security, stating, "Under President Trump, we are defending American families and restoring their safety. If you try to enter illegally, you will be caught, you will be removed and you will never return."
Noem, the fourth member of the Trump administration to receive Senate approval, has assumed the helm of the DHS at a critical juncture. The new administration has prioritized securing the border and addressing illegal immigration. To this end, the administration has taken several measures, including deploying the military, resuming wall construction, and terminating parole programs initiated during the Biden era.
In tandem with these efforts, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been conducting deportation operations nationwide, fulfilling President Trump's promise of a "historic" operation. During her confirmation hearing, Noem acknowledged the multifaceted nature of the DHS mission, which includes cybersecurity, disaster relief, and counterterrorism. However, she stressed that border security remains a "top priority."
As a former governor, Noem pledged in 2021 not to accept any more migrants from the Biden administration. She also deployed the National Guard to the Texas border and collaborated with federal officials to manage flooding in the state in June. When questioned about her working relationship with border czar Tom Homan, who is leading the deportation effort and border security, Noem assured that they "work very well together and talk and communicate all the time."
Noem's stern warning and the administration's decisive actions underscore the conservative principle of upholding law and order. They reflect a commitment to protect American families, maintain strong borders, and ensure the rule of law. These measures, while controversial to some, are seen by others as necessary steps to safeguard the nation's security and prosperity. As Noem stated, "Strong borders mean a stronger America. President Trump is making America safe again."
