As reported by The Post Millennial, an internal memo from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed that two groups of immigrants, initially en route to the U.S. border, decided to abandon their journey and return to their countries of origin. One group, comprising 23 individuals from Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, and Venezuela, encountered Honduran authorities. Upon questioning, they disclosed that they halted their journey after "learning about the multi-agency force security on the Southwest Border in social media and through family members in the United States."
The CBP memo further detailed a separate incident on February 3, when Honduran police intercepted another group of 26 immigrants. These individuals, also bound for the United States, were deterred by the news of Trump's enhanced border security and the deportation of illegal immigrants.
