In the ongoing battle to secure the nation's borders, Tom Homan, the Border Czar appointed by President Trump, has been unwavering in his commitment to organize an unprecedented mass deportation of criminal illegal immigrants.
His determination is palpable, and his resolve was further underscored when he publicly confronted New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy during a recent interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
As reported by RedState, Governor Murphy made a rather startling revelation during an interview with the progressive grassroots organization Blue Wave New Jersey. The Democratic governor admitted, "[NJ First Lady] Tammy [Murphy] and I were talking about I dont want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to." He further added, "And we said, you know what? Let's have her live at our house above our garage. And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her."
This audacious statement by Murphy, which essentially challenges federal authorities, was met with a stern response from Homan. Hannity, during his show, brought up Murphy's comments and offered Homan an opportunity to respond. Homan, in no uncertain terms, stated, "I think the governor is pretty foolish." He further added, "I got note of it. Won't let it go. We'll look into it. And if he's knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that's a violation of Title VIII of the United States Code 1324."
Homan's comments suggest that he views Murphy's actions as nothing more than a display of bravado in the face of the administration's crackdown on criminal activities. He even went as far as to say, "I would seek prosecution, or the secretary will seek prosecution. Maybe he's bluffing. If not, we'll deal with that."
Governor Murphy, since his inauguration as the Garden State governor in 2018, has been vocal about his intention to establish an Office of Immigrant Defensive Protection to assist illegal immigrants in his state. However, this plan has yet to materialize.
Murphy's recent comments, which seem to position him as a defender of criminals in his state, have raised eyebrows. His audacious challenge to federal authorities, coupled with his admission of harboring an individual with unresolved immigration status, may have finally pushed him into a corner. As Homan's response suggests, the governor's words may have far-reaching consequences, potentially leading to legal repercussions under United States law.
