A 19-year-old in Colorado was recently arrested after discovering a layout of the school and a journal full of what is described as schizophrenic rants.

The suspect admitted to planning a school shooting. William Whitworth, who identifies as Lilly, is facing charges of first-degree criminal attempt to commit murder, menacing, criminal mischief, and interference with staff, faculty, or students of an educational institution.

Thankfully, a concerned family member notified authorities before anything could happen. Fox News reports, A family member reportedly told 911 dispatchers that her sister had threatened to shoot up a school and had anger problems. Deputies were sent to the house, littered with trash and had containers with half-eaten food, making it difficult to walk inside.

When officers made their way to Whitworths room, they discovered a room with trash as high as the bed. Multiple holes were in the wall. According to The Gazette, Investigators found instructions on how to build homemade bombs. Whitworth was drunk and in bed amid the pile of trash.

Then, officers brought in the suspect for questioning. During the rounds of questioning, Whitworth admitted to planning the school shootings and said that their former middle school, Timberview, would be the primary target.

Deputies did question Whitworth as to the reason behind the school shooting. However, there doesnt seem to be one. According to The Gazette, When authorities asked why Whitworth wanted to shoot up a school, Whitworth said: No specific reason. Whitworth also admitted to being about a third of the way from doing it (committing a mass shooting), the affidavit states.

Both staff and parents were notified of the incident. The District spoke with news outlets and said they are grateful to anyone who noticed something and chose to speak up.

According to Fox News, Whitworths arrest came just days after a woman who used he/him pronouns entered a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, and killed six people including three children.
