In a recent revelation, Robert F.

Kennedy, President Donald Trump's nominee for the Department of Health and Human Services, has been accused of being a "predator" addicted to "attention and power.".

The allegations were made by his cousin, Caroline Kennedy, in a scathing letter that also highlighted some of his darkest moments. The letter was written to senators ahead of Kennedy's confirmation hearing, which, if successful, would grant him control over a $1.7 trillion budget as the top health official.

According to The Independent, the letter contains a series of shocking accusations about Kennedy's life, ranging from his peculiar habits with his pet hawks to leading his family members towards drug addiction. Caroline Kennedy, a former U.S. ambassador to Australia and Japan, stated, "I have known Bobby my whole life; we grew up together," before launching into her critique of her cousin.

Robert F. Kennedy, son of the liberal political icon of the same name who was assassinated in 1968, is a licensed master falconer who has trained hawks since he was 11. Caroline Kennedy drew a parallel between his hobby and his character, stating, "Its no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because he himself is a predator." She further alleged that he enjoyed showing off how he put baby chickens and mice in a blender to feed his hawks, describing it as a "perverse scene of despair and violence."

Caroline Kennedy also accused her cousin of leading his family members "down the path of drug addiction" through the "strength of his personality." She claimed that his basement, garage, and dorm room were the centers of drug-fueled action. "Siblings and cousins who Bobby encouraged down the path of substance abuse suffered addiction, illness, and death while Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie, and cheat his way through life," she wrote. However, she did commend him for overcoming his own addiction to heroin, which he claims ended after a conviction for possession in 1984 and subsequent rehab.

In her letter, Caroline Kennedy also criticized her cousin's "dangerous" vaccine-sceptic views, which she believes are financially motivated. She pointed out that Kennedy's financial disclosures reveal his intention to receive legal fees from a firm suing the producer of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine Gardasil. "Through his 'crusade against vaccination,' he is willing to enrich himself by denying access to a vaccine that can prevent almost all forms of cervical cancer and which has been safely administered to millions of boys and girls," she wrote.

Caroline Kennedy also accused her cousin of hypocrisy, claiming that while he discourages parents from vaccinating their children due to alleged risks, he continues to vaccinate his own. "Bobby is addicted to attention and power," she wrote. "Bobby preys on the desperation of parents and sick children vaccinating his own children while building a following by hypocritically discouraging other parents from vaccinating theirs."

She further accused him of exploiting the image of her father, former President John F. Kennedy, to advance his own political career. "Bobby expropriated my fathers image and distorted President Kennedys legacy to advance his own failed presidential campaign and then grovelled to Donald Trump for a job," she wrote. She added that her father would be "disgusted" by his actions.

Despite these allegations, Robert F. Kennedy has maintained that he is not anti-vaccine. However, the claims made by his cousin paint a picture of a man driven by power and attention, willing to exploit family tragedies and potentially endanger public health for personal gain. As the confirmation hearing approaches, these accusations will undoubtedly play a significant role in the senators' decision.
