President Donald Trump has made a significant change in his administration by replacing Acting Director of National Intelligence Stacey Dixon.

This move comes amid speculation that Dixon was attempting to obstruct Tulsi Gabbard's nomination for the role of Director of National Intelligence (DNI).

As reported by The Post Millennial, a senior official from the Trump administration disclosed to the New York Times that Dixon was asked to step down so that Trump could appoint someone "who aligns with his priorities." Dixon's association with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives from the Biden administration was also noted. Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec had previously commented on social media platform X, stating, "I'm told Acting DNI [Stacey] Dixon trying to derail Tulsi, in contact with some that have had their clearances revoked, cooking up a new fake story about intel on Russia, per senior official."

In Dixon's place, Trump has appointed Lora Shiao, who has a notable history within the intelligence community. Shiao previously served under former Director of National Intelligence Avril D. Haines and was promoted to lead the National Counterterrorism Center by Richard Grenell during Trump's first term. Grenell, a trusted ally of Trump, was appointed as the Presidential Envoy for Special Missions ahead of Trump's second term.

According to Ballotpedia, Shiao has extensive experience across various intelligence agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Defense. She also served as an intelligence briefer to the attorney general and FBI director from 2005 to 2007.

Trump's allies have expressed concerns over Dixon's involvement in DEI initiatives, which were a priority under the Biden administration. Dixon was appointed as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence in 2021 by the Biden administration, a role that underscored the administration's focus on diversifying intelligence agencies.
