Hollywood actress and vocal Black Lives Matter advocate, Julia Roberts, has recently expressed her outrage over the looting of celebrity homes in Los Angeles.
Amid the chaos triggered by the fires, criminals have seized the opportunity to loot the deserted mansions of Hollywood's elite, according to Gateway Pundit.
Over the past week, law enforcement has apprehended approximately 30 individuals suspected of looting these abandoned luxury residences. Roberts, in a recent Instagram post promoting the SoCal Fire Fund, expressed her disdain for the looters, writing, There is so much healing and help needed. We will get through this. #F.U.Looters.
Interestingly, Roberts did not express similar sentiments during the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020, following the death of George Floyd. Instead, the award-winning actress positioned herself as an ally of the movement. White privilege is real. Take a minute to consider a Black persons experience today. #BlackLivesMatter, she posted on Instagram on May 29, 2020.
That same evening, the escalating violence in Washington, DC, necessitated the relocation of President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania, and their son Barron to a bunker for safety. The property damage resulting from arson, vandalism, and looting during the BLM riots is estimated to have cost between $1 to $2 billion.
Roberts, who has been known to use her platform to promote political agendas, was heavily criticized during the 2024 presidential election for an advertisement encouraging women to vote Democrat without informing their husbands. In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want, and no one will ever know, Roberts said in the Harris/Walz campaign ad. Remember, what happens in the booth stays in the booth, she concluded, Vote Harris-Walz.
