Truckers TERRIFYING Bomb Threat Grinds South Carolina To A Halt

A Jordanian national was apprehended in South Carolina last Thursday, following allegations of a false bomb threat during a routine traffic stop.

The incident led to the closure of Interstate 85 for a span of nearly five hours.

The incident unfolded around 2:45 pm, as reported by The Post Millennial, when state transport police pulled over 28-year-old Ahmad Jamal Khamees Alhendi's tractor-trailer due to a missing license plate. During this interaction, Alhendi alarmed the officer by claiming there was an explosive device in his vehicle.

Alhendi, a Jordanian who legally entered the United States in 2018, had reportedly "failed to comply with the terms of his legal admittance," according to Jewish News Syndicate. His alarming declaration prompted a swift response from multiple authorities, including the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the FBI. The ensuing investigation led to a halt in traffic across all six lanes of I-85 while the 18-wheeler was thoroughly inspected. The vehicle was eventually cleared, and the interstate was reopened around 7:40 pm.

Alhendi now faces a series of charges, including conveying false information about a bomb threat, breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature, and operating a vehicle without a license plate. During his court appearance on Friday, a total surety bond of $20,238 was set for these charges.

Currently, Alhendi is detained at the Greenville County Detention Center. A representative for the detention center confirmed to Fox News that Alhendi is under an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer.

The tractor-trailer driven by Alhendi is registered to Globe Transportation, an Illinois-based company. While the company has confirmed Alhendi's employment, it has refrained from commenting further on the situation.
