In a recent development, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican Representative from Georgia, has suggested that an impending winter storm could potentially interfere with the certification of Donald Trump's election.
Greene, a staunch supporter of Trump, was present during the former President's speech in January 2021, which was followed by a violent attempt by MAGA supporters to disrupt the certification of President Joe Biden's 2020 victory.
According to Raw Story, Greene's comments over the weekend hinted at the possibility of weather-related disruptions. She stated, "Jan 6th at 1:00 pm Congress must certify President Trumps historic election." She further noted the weather forecast for Washington, saying, "Washington has a winter storm warning for Jan 5-7th expecting possibly a foot of snow." Greene expressed her commitment to the certification process, asserting, "Im here and will walk to the Capitol if I have to."
In a subsequent post, Greene reiterated her determination, writing, "Jan 6th we certify President Trumps election!" She further urged her fellow Republicans to show the same resolve, stating, "Ill be here no matter how much it snows and so should every single Republican!!"
This development has elicited responses from various quarters. Artist Art Candee, for instance, responded to Greene's comments with a question, "Gonna say Dems are controlling the weather again?" This highlights the ongoing political tension and the potential for weather-related disruptions to further complicate the already contentious process of election certification.
