Rumors of corruption in the Ukraine government are far from new.
These ran rampant when President Trump was in office. Now, however, Zelenskyy says hes doing something about it. On Tuesday, several officials resigned amid the scandals. One person who said goodbye was a deputy defense minister. Many were accused of paying way too much for rations.
Many people in Ukraine say that this shows President Zelenskyys determination to eliminate corruption in the Ukrainian government. According to The Daily Caller, The President sees and hears society. And he directly responds to a key public demand justice for all, Podolyak said.
One Ukrainian newspaper called out the defense ministry for paying too much for essential staples and catering services. The newspaper did the math and determined that the military paid almost three times as much as they should for eggs or potatoes.
The defense ministry has denied the accusations, but they want the country to have faith in the defense ministry again. Thats why the deputy defense minister resigned.
A deputy infrastructure minister is also facing charges. According to Fox News, The news comes just two days after a deputy infrastructure minister was arrested over accusations of corruption by allegedly stealing $400,000 from funds received under contracts for generator purchases as Ukraine struggles to keep energy supplies going across the country.
A deputy prosecutor is also facing backlash and possible criminal charges. On top of that, he faces tax evasion charges. While those in Ukraine were fighting for their lives, he went on holiday to Spain to relax.
