NewsNation's Chris Cuomo has taken a stand against the Democratic Party's relentless pursuit of President-elect Donald Trump, which has manifested in the form of impeachment proceedings and legal cases in New York.

According to the Daily Caller, Cuomo, during his appearance on "The Chris Cuomo Project," expressed his disapproval of the Democrats' actions, particularly their first impeachment of Trump, which he described as "a political indulgence." He also criticized the legal cases in New York, dismissing them as "crap" designed to sabotage Trump's potential 2024 presidential campaign.

Cuomo stated, I believe that what the Democrats did to Donald Trump which I covered which was the job to impeach a guy when you know you have no chance of getting him removed okay, zero chance that was a political indulgence to do nothing but distract from the interests of the people. He further accused the Democrats of creating a false impression of a standard they had no intention of upholding themselves.

Despite facing two impeachments led by the Democrats during his presidency, Trump was acquitted both times in 2020 and 2021. However, in a civil fraud action initiated by New York's Democratic Attorney General Letitia James, he was ordered in February to pay over $400 million to New York. In May, he was criminally convicted in a case brought by Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Cuomo continued his critique of the Democrats, stating, And the Democrats have proven the problem with their actions. Those New York cases, Charlie, were crap, and they only brought them to try to slow down Trump. We both know it. He also criticized the Democrats for their handling of Vice President Kamala Harris, arguing that they disregarded any higher standard and did not allow for a democratic process within their own ranks.

Harris managed to garner enough support from Democratic delegates to become the partys presumptive nominee in July, despite receiving almost no approval from primary voters. This process was met with disapproval from left-wing voters and former President Bill Clinton adviser Doug Schoen, further highlighting the internal discord within the Democratic Party.
