Sam Harris, a renowned intellectual, was once instrumental in alerting liberals to the perils of identity politics within their ranks.
However, it appears that he has succumbed to an acute form of Trump Derangement Syndrome, a condition he has been unable to overcome.
According to The Blaze, during a debate with Harris on Bari Weiss' "The Free Press" podcast, conservative commentator Ben Shapiro argued, "My original claim, Sam, is that Donald Trump is very obvious in his excesses. Democrats and the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris are much more, I would say much more, subtle in their excesses. But those excesses are no less dangerous for being more subtle, in fact, in some ways I think they are more dangerous."
Harris countered this assertion by referencing Trump's refusal to accept the 2020 election results. "You cant use a phrase like no less dangerous. Hillary Clinton conceded in 24 hours. That is less dangerous than this continuous provocation that has gone on for years, he said.
Shapiro, however, disagreed, stating, I think that the attempt by members of the media, by Hillary Clinton who herself said that Donald Trump was illegitimately elected based on Russian interference in the 2016 election, was highly damaging.
Harris then dismissed the notion that Clinton continues to make such claims. Shapiro retorted, She will still claim openly that there was manipulation that took place during the 2016 election, while Harris insisted, Thats not true.
Harris then argued that the sane thing to say is that there is continuous foreign interference in our elections. Shapiro responded by accusing Harris of proposing a double standard, stating, When Hillary says it, its totally subtle and fine, and when Trump says it in the most obvious, foolish way, its totally different.
Harris concluded by accusing Shapiro of overlooking crucial details.
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report expressed disappointment at Harris' apparent bias, having once admired him. Hes not missing the relevant details. Hillary repeatedly, multiple times on Twitter and throughout the media, over the course of the four years of Donald Trumps presidency, referred to him as illegitimate and said that the election was stolen, Rubin noted.
Rubin went on to highlight other perceived injustices against Trump, including a "sham impeachment," claims by 51 intelligence officials that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation, and the story's subsequent ban by Big Tech. You had an entire machine that was designed to destroy Donald Trump, he added.
