Joe Rogan, the renowned podcaster who previously backed Senator Bernie Sanders in 2020 and hinted at supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in 2024, has long been hesitant about inviting former President Donald Trump to his show.
However, Rogan finally relented last month, conducting a three-hour interview with the Republican leader that quickly gained traction online, despite alleged censorship efforts by YouTube. Throughout the interview, Rogan seemed open to Trump's policy suggestions and his analysis of the nation's challenges, yet he refrained from endorsing the former president until after a conversation with Elon Musk.
According to The Blaze, following a nearly three-hour discussion with Musk, Rogan acknowledged that the tech entrepreneur, a former Democrat, had presented "the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear." Rogan agreed with Musk's arguments "every step of the way."
Their conversation was filled with insights that might explain why Rogan eventually endorsed Trump over Kamala Harris. These included the debunked Russian collusion narrative constructed by Democrats, Harris's censorial tendencies and unappealing personality, economic challenges, Democrats' failure to address crime, reckless government spending, the border crisis, and the promise of Trump's "Make America Healthy Again" movement. Musk, who has reportedly invested hundreds of millions of dollars in efforts to get Trump elected, emphasized four key reasons why Trump was the best choice.
Musk argued that if Trump were to lose the election, America would "lose the two-party system." He reasoned that only a few swing states determine the election outcome, often by a margin of "10 or 20,000 votes." Musk echoed Rogan's concern, previously expressed to Senator John Fetterman, that the Democratic administration has been "importing vast numbers of illegal aliens into swing states."
Musk highlighted the significant increases in the numbers of illegal immigrants in every swing state, in some cases up to 700%. He stressed that these numbers far exceed what would be necessary to secure swing states for the Democrats permanently. "Once the swing states vote blue, there is no election anymore," Musk stated. "There's only a Democrat primary."
Musk suggested that the ultimate outcome would be a "one-party state" where Democratic leaders could continue to flood resistant states with illegal immigrants until any remaining opposition is electorally neutralized. He hinted that amnesty might play a significant role in this strategy, and that illegal immigrants could influence the election outcome long before gaining citizenship, pointing to successful Democratic efforts to abolish voter ID laws.
Steven Camarota, the director of research for the Center of Immigration Studies, recently noted in an op-ed that illegal immigrants are also counted in the census, meaning blue states will gain increasing representation in Congress as the border crisis continues unchecked. "If Trump doesn't win, this is the last election," Musk reiterated, to which Rogan responded, "I think you're right."
Musk pointed out that Democrats have been launching a concerted campaign to infringe upon Americans' rights and render the Constitution obsolete. He cited repeated attacks on the First Amendment by Democrats, who have claimed it enables disinformation and misinformation. Musk argued that without freedom of speech, democracy is an illusion, as people cannot make informed votes if they are only fed propaganda.
Musk also noted that the Second Amendment, which is under attack by Harris and other Democrats, serves to ensure Americans can resist tyrannical forces that would undermine the First Amendment. He argued that regulation has stifled innovation, making it harder for companies like Space X to gain approval for a rocket launch from regulatory agencies than to build the actual rockets.
Musk likened regulators to referees in a football game, arguing that while some regulation is necessary, having too many regulators hinders progress. He suggested that if Trump wins, there would be an opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime deregulation and reduction in the size of government.
The conversation also touched on the left's attempts to compare Trump to Adolf Hitler. Musk pointed out that Hitler is reviled for committing genocide and starting a war with Western civilization, neither of which Trump did during his four-year presidency. Rogan noted that Trump campaigned on ending wars, which Musk agreed was a primary concern.
Musk concluded the interview by emphasizing the importance of men voting. "This is a message to the men out there: Vote like your life depends on it because I think it does," said Musk. "Nothing is more important."
