In a recent town hall event in Michigan, Vice President Kamala Harris faced a series of questions that were revealed to be "predetermined," according to the event's moderator, Maria Shriver.

As reported by Conservative Daily News, despite the predetermined nature of the questions, an audience member managed to question Harris directly. The query focused on the pressing issue of gun violence and the Vice President's plans to address it. Harris, in her response, shifted the conversation towards the normalization of active shooter drills in schools.

For the Safer Communities act, which is the first meaningful piece of gun safety legislation in 30 years. And so its a good step, and it really does tell us that. We have a will within the United States Congress to work in a bipartisan land, Harris stated. She further elaborated on the disturbing reality of children learning to protect themselves from active shooters, a stark contrast to her own childhood experiences with fire drills.

In an attempt to appeal to moderate Republicans in key swing states, Harris has joined forces with former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney. The pair is scheduled to participate in moderated discussions in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Oakland County, Michigan, and Waukesha County, Wisconsin, as per ABC News.

Cheney emphasized the importance of voting according to one's conscience, predicting that a silent majority of Republicans would do so on Nov. 5, as reported by PBS News.

Harris has previously faced criticism for her indirect responses to direct questions. During a night forum hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Harris was asked about her strategy to tackle illegal immigration, a central issue in the 2024 campaign following crimes committed by illegal immigrants and the arrival of over 20,000 Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio. Harris responded by referencing her experiences as Californias attorney general and a prosecutor, before addressing the collapse of a bipartisan border bill.

In a separate incident on 6ABC Philadelphias Action News, Harris sidestepped a question about affordability. Instead of outlining plans to ease costs for Americans, she shared personal anecdotes about her middle-class upbringing and her mothers work ethic, without providing any concrete policy proposals.
