In a revelation that has raised eyebrows, it has come to light that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, during his teaching stint in Nebraska in the 1990s, had Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials visit his classroom.
As reported by The Post Millennial, these officials were associated with an institute linked to a Chinese intelligence and influence agency.
The incident unfolded in February 1996, when Walz, then a social studies teacher at Alliance High School, hosted three "educators" from southeast China. The purpose of their visit, as per an unearthed Alliance Times-Herald story, was to "study the education system." However, a study of Chinese government data obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) revealed that the delegation comprised CCP officials. These officials were employed by an institute serving a Chinese espionage agency at the time.
This revelation has intensified concerns regarding Governor Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, and his alleged connections with the CCP. It has been reported that Walz nominated a member of a CCP-aligned political party to the executive branch of Minnesota. Furthermore, he has been accused of misrepresenting significant aspects of his trip to China.
Walz and his wife, Gwen, were overseeing a student trip to China when the "educators" visited his school in rural Nebraska during their US tour. The data indicated that two of the three "educators" had ties to the CCP. The third person, Ning Ziheng, who accompanied the pair as an interpreter, has not been reported as a CCP member. However, it was confirmed that Ye Guoqiang and Yi Hongtao were members of the Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education and have been CCP members for decades, as per Chinese government and academic data reviewed by the DCNF.
The Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education is a "group member" of the Guangdong provincial branch of the Chinese People's Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), a Chinese influence and intelligence agency, according to Chinese government records.
The allegations of Governor Walz's ties with the CCP have prompted Congressional Republicans to initiate an investigation. In August, Kentucky Rep. James Comer, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, penned a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, seeking details about "any Chinese entity or individual with whom Mr. Walz may have engaged or partnered." This development underscores the serious implications of these allegations and the need for a thorough investigation.
