FBI Pursues Attempted Assassination Charges As Ryan Routh Denied Bail

In a recent development, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is moving forward with charges against Ryan Routh for the alleged attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the GOP nominee.

Routh was reportedly spotted lurking in the shrubbery of Trump's golf course, armed and seemingly prepared to target the former President. Following a court hearing on Monday, Routh was denied bail.

As reported by The Post Millennial, Routh, aged 58, was deemed a flight risk and ordered to remain in custody until his trial. Prosecutors submitted a court filing requesting Routh's continued detention, citing a letter allegedly penned by Routh himself. The letter, discovered among the prosecution's evidence, detailed plans to assassinate the GOP nominee.

The letter read, "Dear world, this was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I am so sorry I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster." Routh's letter also proposed a bounty of $150,000 for anyone willing to "complete the job" on Trump, further solidifying his intentions.

Earlier this month, police identified Routh concealed in the bushes of a golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump was engaged in a round of golf. The discovery was made when the barrel of a gun protruded through the chain-link fence surrounding the golf course, approximately 300-500 yards from Trump.

Upon spotting Routh, the Secret Service responded swiftly, opening fire and prompting Routh to retreat to his vehicle. The alleged would-be assassin was later apprehended by police in a neighboring county. An AK-47-style rifle equipped with a scope and an extended magazine was recovered from the scene. Additional items found included a GoPro camera, a backpack, and a shopping bag attached to the fence. The Department of Justice (DOJ) reported that the bags contained plates capable of withstanding small arms fire.

This incident underscores the ongoing security concerns surrounding high-profile political figures. The seriousness of the charges against Routh, coupled with the evidence presented, paints a chilling picture of the potential threats they face. As the case progresses, it will be crucial to monitor how the courts handle this alleged assassination attempt on a former President.
