WATCH: Parkland Dad SLAMS Father Who Gifted Gun To School Shooter

The father of a victim from the 2018 Parkland school shooting has expressed his outrage over allegations that the suspect in the recent Georgia school shooting received a firearm as a Christmas gift.

The suspect, 14-year-old Colt Gray, is accused of initiating a deadly shooting at Apalachee High School, resulting in the deaths of two students and two teachers.

According to Newsweek, Gray has been slapped with four counts of felony murder and is anticipated to face trial as an adult. His father, Colin Gray, 54, has also been apprehended and charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. Law enforcement sources revealed to CNN that Colin Gray admitted to purchasing the AR-15-style rifle, the weapon used in the school shooting, as a Christmas gift for his son in December 2023.

Fred Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter Jamie was tragically killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida, responded vehemently to these allegations. In a post on X, a platform formerly known as Twitter, Guttenberg wrote, "THE FATHER BOUGHT THE F***ING GUN AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT AFTER THE VISIT FROM THE FBI!!! This should be the moment that everyone can acknowledge the 2A, both gun rights activists and gun violence prevention activists, but also come to the realization that gun rights should never get in the way of preventing gun violence."

Guttenberg continued, emphasizing that his statement was not against gun ownership, but rather against gun violence. He called for a consensus on the irrationality of the situation and its preventability, as well as the necessity of criminal charges against the father and the implementation of a red flag law.

He further stated, "Because this is Georgia, there was no red flag law. I hope they find a way to hold the father to account. He should rot in prison. My fight to reduce gun violence is because I truly believe that we can and must do more to stop these instances of gun violence and that we can do so in a way that is not an affront to gun owners or the 2A."

The case has sparked a heated debate on gun control, with critics arguing that the tragedy could have been prevented with stricter regulations. The conservative perspective, however, maintains that responsible gun ownership is a fundamental right, and that the focus should be on individual accountability rather than blanket restrictions on firearms.
