The Trump administration has reportedly achieved a significant reduction in the nation's illegal alien population, decreasing it by 1.6 million over the past six months.

This development is attributed to rigorous interior immigration enforcement, as revealed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS).

According to Breitbart, an analysis conducted by CIS researchers Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics data, indicates that from January to July, there was an "unprecedented" decline of 2.2 million in the total foreign-born population in the United States. Of this figure, 1.6 million are identified as illegal aliens.

The researchers stated, "Analysis of the [Current Population Survey] data shows the total foreign-born population of all ages, both in and out of the labor force, declined an unprecedented 2.2 million from January to July the largest six-month decline ever within the same year." They also highlighted that the naturalized U.S. citizen population has seen a slight increase during this period.

This analysis coincides with recent employment data, which shows that job gains have predominantly benefited native-born Americans rather than foreign-born workers. CIS researchers noted, "While employers may be unhappy with a decline in illegal immigrant workers, reducing the supply of labor is likely to be very helpful to less-educated U.S.-born and legal-immigrant workers, whose wages may rise as a result."
